KETTLER – THE HISTORY OF A TRADITIONAL BRAND

The history of the Kettler brand begins in the northern Sauerland region. In 1949, Heinz Kettler founded the traditional company in the tranquil town of Ense-Parsit. Soon after, production facilities were built in the immediate vicinity of the headquarters in Ense. Four factories were built, producing toy vehicles, bicycles, sports equipment and garden furniture.

Kettler quickly made a name for itself in the field of play and sports equipment in particular and earned an outstanding reputation worldwide. The Kettler brand has always stood for innovation and unparalleled quality.

The founder Heinz Kettler died in 2005, and as a result, the company underwent far-reaching changes in the 2000s. Now split into a group of companies, Kettler's individual product divisions were transferred to other companies.

The fitness division Kettler Sport took over the Swiss company Trisport AG in 2020, until the division was finally taken over by Fitshop GmbH in December 2024.

Kettler sports equipment is now part of the Fitshop brand family, Europe's largest specialist retailer for home fitness equipment. Kettler equipment such as treadmills, cross trainers and rowing machines have always played an important role in Fitshop's 40-year history.
